The Clay County Fiscal Court has approved a resolution authorizing a Memorandum of Agreement with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet for funding through the Local Area Road Program (LARP). The agreement provides $1,516,000 in reimbursement funding to support transportation and road improvement projects throughout Clay County.
By approving the resolution, the Fiscal Court officially accepted the funding and authorized Tommy Harmon, Clay County Judge Executive, to execute the agreement on behalf of the county. This investment will help improve local infrastructure, enhance roadway safety, and support continued efforts to maintain and strengthen Clay County’s transportation network for residents and visitors alike.
County roads that will be resurfaced under this agreement:
- Millpond Hollow Road (CR 1010) from KY 11 Extending to the end of county maintenance for approximately 0.351 mile.
- Wiles Branch Road (CR 1055) from KY 1482 extending to the end of county maintenance for approximately 0.500 mile.
- Banks Branch Road (CR 1067) from KY 66 extending to the end of county maintenance for approximately 1.036 miles.
- Baker Hill Road (CR 1072) from Banks Branch Road extending to the end of county maintenance for approximately 0.211 mile.
- Sugar Creek Road (CR 1119) from Old Highway 66 extending to the end of county maintenance for approximately 0.782 mile.
- Chat Branch Road (CR 1179) from US 421 extending to Chop Bottom Road for approximately 1.170 miles.
- Portersburg Road (CR 1313) from KY 687 extending to Milepoint 1.600 for approximately 1.600 miles.
- Ells Branch Road (CR 1366) from Milepoint 4.830 extending to KY 1350 for approximately 1.600 miles.
- Huckle Berry Road (CR 1385) from US 421 extending to the end of county maintenance for approximately 1.284 miles.
